How to Make a Traditional Christmas Wreath With Pretzels
Hi! This is Ginny with Simply Beautiful Crafts on behalf of Expert Village.
Today, I am going to show you how to make a traditional Christmas wreath
out of your pretzel ring or wreath. As with all of your wreaths, the first
thing you are going to do is put your ribbon through it. This is a very
inexpensive paper ribbon that I got at the craft store. You can also use
cloth ribbon, lace ribbon anything that has that traditional Christmas flavor
to it. You want to wrap your ribbon around your wreath, one and a half to
one and a quarter times tell you about how much ribbon you need and then
you are going to start weaving it through, coming from the backside to the
front going over a joint. As you weave your ribbon through if it is wider
than your wreath ribbon, you want to kind of hold it a little bit so that
you keep the ribbon wide, pull it through and you might want to leave just
the little bit so it has that bit of puff that adds to the 3D effect of
you wreath, may be even hold it down just a bit so that you do not accidentally
pull that puff, so then you can pull it tight on the bottom and you still
have the little bit of a puff on top. Go ahead and go all the way around
your wreath with your ribbon, keeping it straight, stopping those puffs
from getting flattened out, putting it through until you get all the way
around to the beginning. Once you are there, you want to take your ribbon,
cut the end of it off so that it is just right there and then you can either
cut it so that it is pointed or if you have already got a flat cut with
it, you can lay your bead of glue right here in the crease and then kind
of pleat your ribbon, so that all of it is on there and it is behind the
wreath, so that you do not see it from the other side. Then once you got
your ribbon all the way around it you can make a bow for the bottom and
go ahead and stick your bow on and then embellish it with traditional Christmas
designs. I was able to find these products at my discount store and a lot
of time The Dollar Stores will have these kinds of things around Christmas
time. This big bag of little beads has lasted a longtime and I have been
able to use it for many products. You want to carefully put your ornaments
around or your decorations around, lay them on, play with them, decide if
that is how you want them or not. Once you have them set the way that you
want them, go ahead and take your glue gun, run a bead of glue on the back,
place it carefully where you want it. Be sure you place it carefully because
once the glue is set, if you try to take a piece off, it will take the finish
off and you will have an unprotected piece. Then when you are all finished,
you might want to put some of the little gold balls around, or a little
red or little green balls and then make sure you make some kind of a hanger
in the back so that you can hang your ornament on the tree or on your wall
wherever you would like to hang it. So this is a very traditional Merry
Christmas wreath brought to you by Simply Beautiful Crafts.
