Lovely Candle Craft for Kids
This "lovely candle" is made with a toilet paper tube, a printer and a little imagination.  If you do not have a printer, just take a peek at the templates and draw the pieces out yourself!

Materials:
  • 1 sheet of white paper
  • toilet paper roll
Equipment:
  • crayons, pencil crayons, paints or felt pens
  • scissors
  • white glue
Instructions:
  1. Print out the template of choice.
    • Template
    • Sometimes it may say "No pages available to print". This happens with some browsers and means that you've printed or print previewed once already. If you get this message, close the template window and click the link above again.Set page margins to zero if you have trouble fitting the template on one page (FILE, PAGE SETUP in most browsers).  Click anywhere inside the template window before printing.
  2. Close the template window after printing to return to this screen.
  3. Colour (where appropriate) and cut out the template pieces.
  4. Glue the large rectangular piece on first to cover the tube.
  5. Glue the flame to the top of the "candle".
  6. Glue on the hearts in whatever way you chose to decorate the candle and/or the "doily".
  7. Set the candle on top of the round piece (the doily) so you don't get imaginary wax all over the place!
Alternative Decorating Ideas:
  • Use sparkles, sparkle glue, or felt to decorate or in place of some of the hearts.
  • Use pieces of lace or ribbon to trim the bottom of the candle or the edge of the doily.
  • Use the template for the black and white printer on white paper and colour in the pieces with crayon, marker, paint, etc.
  • Use the template for the black and white printer on coloured construction paper
