Lunch Bag Bunny Puppet

Lunch bag puppets are an old standby, but they're fun to make and can occupy the kids for hours. Give them a bag, crayons and whatever craft supplies you can spare and let them go to it!

Materials:

  • paper lunch bag
  • brown construction paper
  • scrap of white paper
Equipment:
  • glue
  • scissors
  • crayons
Instructions:
  1. The bottom of the bag will become your puppet's head. Leave the bag folded up and draw a face on the bottom of the bag. (Instead of drawing, you could glue on googly eyes, felt, construction paper or anything else you like to make a face).
  2. Cut two ears from the brown construction paper. Color in the center of the ears with crayons.
  3. Glue the ears to the back of the head.
  4. Cut out two small rectangles from the white paper. These are the bunny's teeth. Glue them on his head.
  5. Now draw paws and other decorations on the front of the bunny. We drew some flowers.
  6. Of course, instead of drawing, you can glue things to the bunny. You could use a piece of fun fur on the bunny's tummy, or some pompoms to make his paws. Use your imagination.
  7. Now your puppet is finished! If you want to hold a puppet show, you can make more puppets. Try making a chick, a frog, a dog and a cat - just use your imagination.
