New Year's Party: The Drink
Below, you'll find recipes for our favorite alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink recipes. Don't forget to check out our tableware section to learn how to create easy elegant glassware.

Craft Central Station urges you to be responsible party hosts. Make sure your guests don't drink and drive. You have several great options: pre-arrange for some party goers to be designated drivers; pre-arrange taxi rides home; when guests ask what they can bring to the party, tell them they can bring $20 for a taxi ride home; hire drivers (local high school kids are great choices).

How to serve champagne

Chill champagne in the fridge or in a bucket that's 1/4 full of ice and 1/4 full of water. Champagne should never be colder than 6 degrees Celsius. Don't ever freeze champagne; you'll ruin the flavor of the wine.

To uncork the champagne, tilt the bottle at a 45 degree angle away from yourself and others. Untwist and remove the wire hood. Grasp cork between your forefinger and your thumb. Twist SLOWLY in ONE DIRECTION so that the pressure in the bottle helps release the cork.

Serve in a champagne flute to preserve the bubbles.
