Recycle old glass ornaments
Here are two suggestions for removing paint from old glass Christmas ornaments. Once the paint is removed, you can redecorate the ornament. (Try our Marbelized Ornaments instructions!)

Method One from carencake@aol.com

To use the old glass ornaments that have been scratched from love just soak them in household beach or if internal colors ruined pour bleach inside add dry rice and swirl around to remove old paint. Usually this works then rinse well and dry. You may then paint them or fill will tinsel, popouri, etc. Good luck!

Method Two from tarrijin@aol.com

If you have any old glass christmas ornaments, that are losing their paint, or that you are tired of, carefully remove the metal "cap" from the top and pour some bleach and some table salt into the ornament, put your thumb over the opening and shake. All the interior paint will come right off. Rinse well. This also works on a cloth for paint on the outside of the balls. Rinse thoroughly and decorate any way you like! I like to use small pieces of tinsel garland inserted into the balls and/or paint a message or draw a design on the outside using a gold or silver, reg or green "paint pen" .
