Paper Bag Ornaments
Materials:
  • Paper bags or other brown paper
  • Christmas print (or solid red/green) fabric scraps
  • Fusible web
  • Iron, scissors, pencil
  • Hot glue gun
  • Ribbon
Instructions:
  1. Choose a shape (or several shapes) for your ornament. Trace around a cookie cutter, use a shape from a craft pattern or print out our basic Christmas shapes.
  2. You'll need to create each shape in two sizes. The first size should be the size you want for your finished ornament. The second size should be 1/4" to 1/2" smaller than the first. To create the second size, simply trace one the first size onto a piece of paper and then trim it down with a pair of scissors (it doesn't have to be perfectly trimmed).
  3. Trace the larger of the patterns onto a piece of brown paper and cut out.
  4. Trace the smaller of the patterns onto a piece of Christmas print fabric and onto a piece of fusible web and cut both out.
  5. Use the iron and follow manufacturer's directions for the fusible web to iron the fabric cutout onto the paper cutout.
  6. Attach a loop of ribbon to the back of your ornament for hanging.
  7. You can use the hot glue gun to attach a small bow to the ornament, if you wish.
