Instructions:
A one-color stencil design is the easiest to cut and apply. You can use the snowflake design that I provide shown here to create your own wrapping paper.
You begin by creating an overall design on a roll of ordinary shelf paper or kraft paper, the kind of paper you use for mailing packages. Or you can choose pretty wrapping paper with a small, overall background pattern on which to apply the snowflake design. You don't have to use white paint just because snowflakes are white. You can use red or green paint on white paper for a holiday wrapping.

Wrapping Paper Design

  1. Cover your work table with newspaper.
  2. Prepare your work surface for cutting stencil.
  3. Trace the snowflake design.  Use the tracing to cut out each element of the stencil.
  4. Spread the wrapping paper out flat on a hard surface and tape each corner down.
  5. Position the stencil in one top corner to begin stenciling the design in a random pattern over the paper.
  6. Squirt a small amount of white paint onto a dish or plate, dip the brush into the paint, and then tap the brush to remove the excess paint.
  7. Apply the paint to the stencil design.
  8. Let the paint dry and then move the stencil to the next area and continue to stencil the designs all over the paper background.
