• 1 full skein embriodery floss
• 1/2 of a gold (or tinsel) pipe cleaner
• 2 matching feathers
• 1/2 inch (6mm?) wooden bead (with or without the pre-painted face)
• 6 inches 1/8 inch ribbon
• thread for making hanger/tie
• scissors
• tacky glue

Instructions:

1. Take the floss, leaving the tabs on the ends, and fold in half, making sure the ends are even lengths.
2. Take the pipe cleaner and take one end, fold the end 1 inch and wrap around the floss at the center. Twist tightly.
3. Slide the bead onto the pipe cleaner all the way to the floss over the twist. Twist the remainder of the pipe cleaner around your finger and twist the end to make a loop, then fold over the top of the bead to make the halo.
4. Take the ribbon and tie very tightly near the top of the floss to make the bodice of the angel, making sure the open sides of the loops are to the sides, and the knot is in the front. Tie a knot, then make a small bow.
5. Take the tab ends off the floss, then cut the ends of the loops to form the skirt. Comb out with your fingers.
6. Dip the ends of the feathers into the glue and stick into the side openings at the sides of the "bodice" to form the wings.
7. To hang as an ornament or as a package tie, tie the thread around the "neck" of the angel below the bead, and make a loop.
8. You can leave the bead blank, or draw a face, even hair with fine point permanent markers or tiny paint brushes. This is even easy enough for smaller children to do, such as my Brownie Troop!!
